End of July Update

The framers had to come back to fix a few areas
but we're now awaiting the framing inspection.
Next week should see the insides of the fireplaces
completed and the central vac system installed.

Shingles, siding & sheetrock are coming soon; meanwhile...

...the electricians and HVAC guys are finishing up...

...as are the plumbers (ie, outdoor spigot above).

We were so excited to see the 8' front door installed.
Love it!

Tubs/showers have arrived.
Above, the main guest bath (to be finished in tile).

The wires are accumulating!

With most of the cabinetry approved, I'm spending
countless hours researching lighting options.

After weeks of looking, we've finally made progress but
I still have some of the most important areas for which
to find the perfect fixtures: the kitchen, dining & foyer.

With an upcoming knee surgery, I'm trying hard to stay
ahead of the game.  Did we think it would take so much
time, stress and work on our part?  Perhaps not but it also
hasn't really come as a surprise.  It does feel like we're on
the backside of this mountain of research and decisions.
Spending every evening walking through the house to
review where it's at and discuss our way through the
latest decisions to be made can be fun but it's also
starting to wear on us...or maybe that's just the heat!

We've found a great deal on a dining table.  Next week,
I'll be making a trip up to KC to see if there is anything
to add on the truck. (Maybe a table for entry way?)
Also next week: having the overgrown lot mowed.
With the very hot, dry days, hopefully once will
be enough before the landscapers start in the fall.

In all, it looks like we're just right there at seeing all the
planning and ideas unfold in real life. The next months
are sure to be the most fun and exciting!
